This and my other airports are designed to make things to fit with the Lyndiman ortho. It’s good so it’s worth the effort of the download and you can find it here.
Another new airport and this one is NZAS Ashburton. This is a nice multiple grass runway near the coast just down from Christchurch and thanks to org member TinkerNZ it looks quite good as he went there and took a load of photos for me. That helped with placing a few things in the right spot plus I’ve been able to use the pictures to make a few things such as the front on the Ashburton Aviation Museum building which now looks a lot more like the real thing than any generic library hangar would have done. So if you know the airfield then there are things you will recognise and if you don’t know it then it’s still quite a nice place to fly to anyway.
Library Notam. There’s a new one called the Puf Library which has some nice stuff in it. I can’t remember if I used any of the items in this airport but there definitely is the next one I’m working on so do add this to your collection. Link below.
NAPS Library NOTAM 3. If anyone has been or is still having issues with this please note there is now a new 6.6 version of the Naps library that seems to fix the problems and doesn’t need my patches now so go and download that
Libraries – Firstly, read the “Additional Libraries” bit below. Next, search google for “X Plane Master List” and download the lot of them. I haven’t used all of those libraries in this airport but by the time I finish with New Zealand I may well have done and with other people making nice scenery it’s just useful to have everything.
I don’t think these are part of the master list so you also need this one
And this one but just the Overlay download part. You don’t need to touch the mesh part of the download if you don’t want to.
I’ve also started using a few trees from this library and it will probably get used a lot in future airports I make
Installation and Support - Usual stuff, download, unzip, put in Custom Scenery, moan at me if it doesn’t work. Note, I’ve now done lots of airports and it’s harder to keep track of things so if you post a comment and want a response I may miss it. So if I’ve not replied in a day or two then just send me a private message instead. I will notice those and I will always reply and try to help if I can.
Credits - Big thanks to Mr Lyndiman for the ortho, the various freeware library creators, Laminar Research, the creators of WED and Overlay, the permissions I’ve received from Robin Corn and Tim Barnes for their house objects, Royaloak, Lawrie Roache, Chris Norman, Vampire and Peter Lohr for airport modifications, Zlin142’s grass, MisterX‘s hangar, md500f and Ndorfn for the objects and TinkerNZ for the photos… and also thanks to coffee… especially the coffee.
Donations – I don’t have a lot of money but your donation probably isn’t going to be big enough to be life changing for me. So if you feel my efforts are worth a small reward then please give a donation to somebody like Cancer Research instead where your little bit of cash might end up being life changing for somebody else.
